Here's the deal: I need a job, now. I've been looking for ages but have yet to land a job. My guess is because I don't have any certifications and/or over 5 years experience in a professional environment. However, what I lack in the above mentioned, I make up for in several ways. 1. Enthusiasm. I'm a very technology oriented person and I love exploring it's possibilities. The more projects I'm given, the more likely I am to go above and beyond. 2. Knowledge. I am very confident in the knowledge that I do have, and I love to learn more. Many nights have been spent pouring over learning resources and testing them out. 3. I work well under stress. One of my talents that I'm very proud of, but reluctant to reveal, is how I handle stress. Instead of freaking out like some people or half assing it like others, I thrive. And therein lies why I'm usually reluctant to reveal that. It's easily exploitable, however even I have my limits, and if that trait is abused, it can backfire. I only like to use it sparingly. 4. Educating the customer. I don't have much patience for those who don't know. However my solution isn't to be condescending or to just "do it". My answer is education. I firmly believe that customers armed with knowledge are more likely to trust technology, be understanding when it doesn't work 100%, and are likely to invest more time and money into it. On that same page however, I don't like to overload the customer. Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither can a customer know everything in a single session. 5. Working with others. I've mostly performed work solo. My last job had me pretty much working alone until I didn't do it my bosses way (meaning how it was done 10 years ago), then I was shoved aside so he could "fix" it (a work now, break later solution). However I've always wanted to work with a team. The thought of many minds coming together always appealed to me. I could bring something to the table no one has thought of, and vice versa. 6. I can be a leader or follower. I've worked on several projects in my short time in the industry so far. Most I've had to take a following role, simply doing tasks assigned to me. On some, however, I've had to take a leadership role, and I like to think I do well. I can improvise on the fly, and will do whatever it takes to get the job done quickly, and correctly. I'm also looking to branch myself out besides being a technician. I'm investing serious time into programming. Once I've come to be comfortable with programming, I'd love to share it with the company I work for. I do have some ideas for some programs I'd like to write, and they will remain my property. The way I'd like to run these programs would conflict with me giving it to someone else, for now. Do not worry though; they won't interfere with the company I work for, or my performance. All I ask now is for someone to invest in me. I'm a dedicated worker who loves to shine.
